Belinda's Press Kit (PDF)

Singer-songwriter Belinda Brady was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Belinda has been writing music and performing since the tender age of fourteen but truly started making waves in the industry as a back up singer, choreographer and dancer on the 1996 "Bombastic Tour" with reggae superstar Shaggy. Since then, Belinda has blossomed into one of Canada's most talented female artists, writing and collaborating internationally.

In 1998 her popular single "Flex" was nominated for a Juno. In 1999 another original "Too Late" won Belinda a Canadian Urban Music Award for Best Single, and in 2003 she was nominated for a second Juno for her song "Gifted Man" distributed by EMI on the Master T Reggae Vibes Compilation. Belinda has enjoyed commercial airplay across Canada and the Caribbean with singles "Want Something" and "Free your Mind" co-written with Farley Flex and produced by legendary duo Sly and Robbie.

Belinda's approach to singer song-writing represents the musical genres and singer songwriters that have influenced and inspired her artistry - Rock, Folk, R&B and Reggae and the music of Bob Marley, Joni Mitchell, India Arie and Sheryl Crow.

With all of her experience and successes in the world of Reggae music it was a meeting with Farley Flex her manager and owner of recording label Plasma, that Belinda calls her professional break through. For the first time she found the courage to play a collection of songs that no one had ever heard. In her words to Flex, "I don't know if I should play these songs for you, they make me feel naked." Flex responded by saying, "Belinda, if these songs mean this much to you, then they're the only songs I'm willing to work with." One year later "NAKED" was completed. Featured titles on the debut body of work include the first single, "I Cried", the powerful but passionate "Get Out!" and other attention getters like "Kiss My Ass" and "Breathe". All help to ensure that "NAKED" is a body of work that will make waves internationally.

Scheduled for release this spring, "NAKED" is a body of work that screams sensuality, maturity and honesty.
